Pic: Members of the Vijayanagara Railway Users Association made a request to Ballari MP E Tukaram on Saturday, in Hosapete Hosapete (Vijayanagara): Members of the Vijayanagara Railway Users’ Association submitted a request to Ballari MP E Tukaram on Saturday, requesting the railway department to expedite completion of projects in Hosapete area. Babulal Jain, a member of the South Western Railway Zonal Advisory Committee, who submitted the request on behalf of the association, requested the early completion of the LC Gate 85 and Ananthashayanagudi railway overbridge (ROB) works, which are moving at a sluggish pace over the past six months. The MP was made aware that Hosapete is recognised as an international tourist destination, with a significant influx of tourists from India and abroad arriving by train. As a result, he was asked to upgrade the Hosapete railway station, add new platforms, and enhance railway terminal facilities. Additionally, it was suggested that measures be implemented to ensure the Hubballi-Hosapete-Chennai train, currently operating twice a week through Hosapete, transitions to a daily service. It was also proposed to reinstate the previously cancelled Belagavi-Hyderabad-Managuru train for the benefit of devotees and the general public travelling from North Karnataka to Mantralaya and Raichur.

Hosapete (Vijayanagara): A 35-year-old woman was found murdered with her throat cut, just days after another woman was discovered murdered, raising security concerns. The deceased was Uma, who lived in the Chapalaghatta area close to Railway Station Road. Uma married Raghu, also known as Ramanjaneya, a native of Andhra Pradesh, 13 years ago, and they had 3 children. Due to marital issues, she had returned to her parents’ home and had been staying there from past 6 years. Police reports indicated that Uma had married Khaja Hussain approximately 4 months ago. Following an initial investigation, Chittawadgi police apprehended Khaja Hussain in connection with the murder. District superintendent of police Jahnavi S, additional SP Manjunath, and DSP Dr Manjunath Talwar visited the scene and carried out an inspection
