Proudhadevaraya Institute of Technology (PDIT)
Proudhadevaraya Institute of Technology (PDIT) is a private technical and professional education institution established in 1997. It was founded under the Vijayanagara Veerashaiva Vidyavardhaka Sangha (V.V. Sangha), Bellary, to provide quality technical education in the region. The institute is located near the Tungabhadra Dam and close to the historic Hampi heritage site, offering a serene and conducive environment for learning.
Vijayanagar college
Vijayanagar College is a well-established higher education institution founded in 1964 by the Bellary Veerasaiva Vidyavardhak Sangha with the motto “Vidya Jnanen Shobhate” (meaning “Knowledge Adorns”). It was named after the historic Vijayanagar Kingdom (Hampi), located nearby, celebrating the region’s rich heritage. The college was inaugurated by the then Vice-President of India, Dr. Zakir Hussain, reflecting its early importance and vision to serve educational needs in a backward region of Karnataka.
