Vijayanagar college
Vijayanagar College is a well-established higher education institution founded in 1964 by the Bellary Veerasaiva Vidyavardhak Sangha with the motto “Vidya Jnanen Shobhate” (meaning “Knowledge Adorns”). It was named after the historic Vijayanagar Kingdom (Hampi), located nearby, celebrating the region’s rich heritage. The college was inaugurated by the then Vice-President of India, Dr. Zakir Hussain, reflecting its early importance and vision to serve educational needs in a backward region of Karnataka.
